3/26Loudoun Student Environmental Action ShowcaseThis event is from 5-8 pm at Heritage HS in Leesburg - learn more at http://loudounnature.org/events/loudoun-seas.  The event is to showcase "student-created exhibitions of environmentally-themed projects and ongoing activities."  They are looking for "local nonprofits, government agencies, and other Community Partners to provide hands-on environmental Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) learning activities and discuss volunteer and career opportunities."  Is this something Makersmiths would be interested in? 9/28-9/29Rust Library How To FestivalHow-to-Festival: Dave will demo his desktop CNC and Diane will make soap from 10:30-11:30am on Saturday Sept 28 in their community meeting room. Erin will demonstration how to make sidewalk chalk on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1PM. There will be other demonstrations on How-to-Make but they will be by other groups/organizations. The purpose is to encourage folks to visit all parts of the library including its maker space.  Diane Painter

12/14MS-P/MS-LComputer Learning Month Open House- how are computers used at Makersmiths. Angela Fraser, coding teacher at Simpson MS and Blue Ridge MS, will come with her students and their parents. We propose the Open Houses occur 2 hours before town holiday parades. This would be 10am-12pm at MS-P, Purcellville parade is at 12:30PM. Then 3:30-5:30 at MS-L, Leesburg parade is at 6PM. Ralph will be the lead at Leesburg, Dave and Jim Waldron will be the co-leads at Purcellville. We need volunteers to come as demonstrators for CNCs, laser cutter, 3D printers, computer design applications. Angela also asked for Raspberry Pi, Arduinos...Diane Painter
