The Fletcher F-3000 Multi-Material Cutter is an industry-standard, heavy-duty vertical cutting machine widely used in custom picture framing, sign-making, and glass shops. It is designed to save floor space by mounting directly to a wall or standing independently on an optional freestanding kit.

  • 3-Position Revolving Turret: The cutting head features an interchangeable triple-tool turret. You can switch instantly between a glass scoring wheel, an acrylic scoring tip, and a matboard razor blade by pulling and rotating the assembly without swapping out separate cartridges. 
  • Patented Glass Ramping Device: A built-in mechanical ramp automatically lifts the scoring wheel onto the top edge of the glass. This prevents edge chipping and ensures a completely clean, effortless break.
  • Rigid Clamping & Tracking: The machine utilizes chrome-plated steel vertical bars that resist bending or flexing under heavy pressure. It relies on a patented lever-type clamping system to lock wide substrate sheets flat against the backing grid, preventing material shift or buckling during the downward cut stroke.

Operational Tips

  • Downstroke Action: All scoring and cutting operations are strictly designed to execute on the downstroke.
  • The Thumb Lever: When lifting the cutting head back to the top of the machine, keep the short thumb lever fully depressed. This action holds the blade safely away from the material so it clears your workspace on the upstroke.
  • Glass vs. Foam Pressure: Use the mechanical lever clamp to secure matboard, foam, and plastics. However, experienced framers note that you should leave the clamp loose or completely disengaged when scoring glass to prevent accidental fractures before you complete the score line.
