    • The Town of Purcellville would like to hear from Makersmiths about setting up a booth at the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival. The deadline for application is 4/8. The Festival is 4/27, noon to 7 pm.   See above for brief and attached for the full report ALWAYS photos! More hands equals less work all around.The Bridgeport that was moved from Leesburg to Purcellville is almost ready for use! Have you seen of it on SLACK?Dave Painter will be unavailable for classes or helping with projects for a while Ian Schue will host the work day at MSP on Saturday. 032024_Board Report website is always looking for help! contact Maggie if you are interested.

    Bylaws and Standing Rules

    • There’s a channel #rules-and-bylaws-review where people are welcome to contribute. They’ll need a Makersmiths email to access the documents and they can be setup with one pretty quickly. Just join the channel and let Jonathan White know. It won’t be an immediate response though. Figuring out how best to have a committee review that’s manageable and balanced with getting input from the members.  (Same as last month)
    • Board considering naming Officers from Board Members change to Bylaws
    • Looking for someone else to take on Bylaws and Standing Rules Committee Chair.

    April 6th April 13th 9am-2pm (or later!)We will be building new tables in the Leesburg 3D printing room during the next workday and could use a lot of help moving things around and cutting things on the CNC. If you are interested in helping out with this, please contact Jessee! Scott is out for recovery from surgery until the end of the month!
  • Sewing classes taught by Amy Copley coming super soon! 
    • Amy has started holding sewing socials in Purcellville on different Wednesdays Check the calendar for more info.The weather is getting slightly warmer, so keep an eye out for classes soonEvin will be teaching regularly scheduled classes this month and next! If you ever wanted to learn about Sandblasting, powder Coating and more, now is the time.
  • Leesburg classes will be coming soon
  • The kiln has run 3 times in March so all pots that were in the que are ready for pickup or glaze
  • We have an extruder that works great. Feel free to give it a go next time you're in, but be advised its a lot of cleanup.
  • I am planning a beginner wheel class and a balloon/coil pot class for late April. I would like a list of interested people. Please contact scheduling if interested!
    • @Kate Amstutz has offered to teach an intermediate/advanced wheel class. Bo would like a list of interested people for that as well.Have you seen the new room?? It's looking amazing! We will need help during the next workday patching up some holes in the walls, painting over the patches and hanging a tv.
  • We are also in need of instructors for cosplay! Are you interested?
  • Cosplay Night is every Thursday in Leesburg 6:30-8:30pm
    •  Electronics night out the new Room downstairs! Are you interested? Do you have ideas? If so, just show up and participate either site! Holland (pending board approval) We are in talks with a buyer for the and it's going well, so if you haven't been trained on the Nova lasers, please do so soon!
  • Printmaking classes to commence in late April or early May at MSL
  • New Makersmiths Printmaking Studio to start being built out once the rest of the rooms have successfully switcheroo'd. 
  • New equipment is being purchased as part of a proposal put forth to the board in March. We are very excited!

  • Diane Bollinger was appointed as the new Sublimation Steward in Leesburg!
  • Classes will begin soon!
    • A new Hat Heat Press was purchased and can be used for sublimating, heat transfer vinyl and just attaching patches to hats! It's also great for anything curved. 
  • We need help building a shelf under the heat press for the mug press and the hat press to live.
    • Leesburg The UV printer was moved to it's new home on the back wall in ! Come take a look!
