 Consent Agenda

Any Board Member may make a motion in the Consent Agenda.  The purpose of the Consent Agenda is to propose motions that have been discussed by Board Members in advance and/or are expected to pass without objection.  If the item does not fit this description, it should be proposed in New Business. Discussion of Consent Agenda items should be done via Slack prior to the meeting.  Any Board Member present at the meeting may request that an item be moved from the Consent Agenda to New Business.  The motions in the Consent Agenda (after any items are moved to New Business) may be passed as a group if there are no objections.  Any motion that requests spending $250 or more must include a section on "Relevance to our tax exempt purpose".

Unfinished Business

OB1:

New Business

NB1: Monitor Refresh (Rob_

Issue: Many of our computer monitors are quite old and some are failing
Solution: Purchase replacement monitors according to on of the following proposals.

Relevance to Tax Exempt Status: None
Motion: Move to approve either $1,214.85 or $647,92 from the Equipment Reserve fund for new monitors.  Monitors to be purchased by September 30 with any remaining funds returned to the Equipment Reserve fund.

Second:

Vote:

NB2: Pressure washer for Laser beds (Jonathan)

Issue: Cleaning the honeycomb beds for the CO2 lasers is difficult without a hose/pressure washer. Screen printing at Leesburg, the side of the green room in Purcellville, and other parts of both locations would benefit from the availability of a pressure sprayer.
Solution: Purchase two small electric pressure washers, one for each location, and accompanying hoses. Pressure washer in Leesburg will be stored either in the metal shop, print shop, or dust/slop sink room. Pressure washer in Purcellville will be stored in the lower classroom bathroom or frame shop. It doesn’t require a board motion to change where the unit is stored, so these are just the initial suggestion. The unit to purchase are either https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-1900-PSI-1-2-GPM-Cold-Water-Wheeled-Corded-Electric-Pressure-Washer-RY1419MT/311223300 or https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-2100-PSI-1-2-GPM-Cold-Water-Corded-Electric-Pressure-Washer-with-Foamer-RY142012/337573998 TBD..
Relevance to Tax Exempt Status: None
Motion:  Move to approve $500 for the purchase of two Ryobi pressure washers, plus any hose or attachments required, to come from the Equipment Reserve Fund. All funds to be spent by 09/30/2026 with any remaining funds to returned to the Equipment Reserve Fund.

Open Discussion

Discuss a plan for member communications around cleaning up, reporting issues etc. as angry posts in Slack aren't going to reach everyone.  Perhaps renewed "Anonymously report an issue" signs, short emails to Members in addition to info in the newsletter, new signs about everyone being volunteers/no one being paid to clean up others mess.   Reminder that Membership can be revoked for repeated issues.  Shouldn't be hard to do some or all of the above.
