Version

If you're looking for support for VCarve, we use VCarve Pro.  Aspire does not have a Makerspace Edition.

VCarve Makerspace Edition

The current Makerspace Edition of VCarve is Pro 11.0X.  Use this URL to download the Makerspace Edition: https://www.vectric.com/support/makerspace-sign-up.  Make sure to add the Makerspace code, otherwise you won't be able to share you file with other Makersmiths users and you won't be able to open your file on the shared Makersmiths computers which is required in order to export the GCode.

Vectric has released 11.5 but it does now allow the Makerspace Edition code to be loaded.  If you download the latest version of VCarve and start your project, you won't be able to open the file on the shared computers and export your GCode.

Makersmiths ID for VCarve

If you are using VCarve, version 11 has now been installed on the desktop attached to Big Red in Leesburg and the desktop in Purcellville. The Makerspace ID is available to members via the #CNC slack channel. This ID is not a full license, but it essentially allows you to use all of the features of VCarve at home/on your own laptop EXCEPT it doesn't allow you to save to GCode. You can work on your designs at home and then just open them on either machine, save your GCode and run it on either CNC machine.

If you don't see the key on Slack and you are on the computer attached to Big Red or the computer in the classroom in Purcellville, you can retrieve the code yourself by launching VCarve then going to "About VCarve Pro - Makerspace Edition", then click "Display Makerspace ID".
