Purpose

The Safety Advisor develops policy, process, and procedure for Makersmiths spaces and volunteers in three major areas: Life Safety, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection. The foundational references for this effort are both statutory and regulatory as promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) , and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Although not all statutory and regulatory safety standards apply to all-volunteer organizations, they still serve as safety best practices.

Safety Responsibility and Representatives

Safety is everyone's responsibility and any member observing an unsafe condition should immediately step in and take action to make the environment safe.  If the observed safety issue is beyond the member's ability to resolve, they should contact the Makersmiths Safety Advisor David Lang , our President John Dubelko , or any member of the Makersmiths Board of Directors.
